Screen flickering on your Vizio E420i-B0 might be caused by a loose HDMI connection or a problem with the power supply. Check and secure all connections, and try using a different power outlet. If the issue persists, consider a factory reset or contact support.
To perform a factory reset, press the Menu button on your remote, go to System, select Reset & Admin, and choose Reset TV to Factory Defaults. Enter your parental lock code if prompted, or use the default code 0000.
If your Vizio E420i-B0 TV won't turn on, ensure it's plugged into a working outlet. Try using a different power cable if possible. If the TV still doesn't turn on, unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and try again.
To update the firmware, press the Menu button, go to System, and select Check for Updates. If a new update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
If there's no sound, ensure that the TV's volume is turned up and not muted. Check the audio settings in the Menu, and make sure external speakers are properly connected and powered on.
To set up parental controls, press the Menu button, go to System, then select Parental Controls. Enter your lock code or set one up, then configure the restrictions as desired.
If the remote isn't working, replace the batteries and ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the TV. Try resetting the remote by removing the batteries and pressing all buttons twice before reinserting them.
To enable closed captions, press the Menu button, navigate to Channels, and select Closed Captions. Choose your preferred caption settings from the available options.
Poor picture quality can be due to incorrect picture settings or a low-quality input source. Adjust the picture settings in the Menu under Picture, and ensure your source device outputs a high-quality signal.
