To install the Vivotek AM-312 Adapter, first ensure that your network cables are properly connected. Mount the adapter securely using the provided brackets and screws, and connect the adapter to your device as per the user manual instructions.
If the adapter is not powering on, check the power supply and ensure it is properly connected. Verify that the power outlet is functional. If the issue persists, try using a different power adapter or contact Vivotek support.
To reset the adapter to factory settings, locate the reset button on the device. Press and hold the button for about 10 seconds until the LED indicators flash, indicating the reset process has started.
The adapter has several LED indicators: Power, Network, and Activity. The Power LED shows if the device is powered on, the Network LED indicates a successful network connection, and the Activity LED flashes during data transmission.
For connectivity issues, ensure that all cables are securely connected and check for network configuration errors. Restart the adapter and your network router. If the problem continues, consult the network configuration settings or contact support.
The Vivotek AM-312 Adapter is designed for indoor use. Using it outdoors can expose it to weather conditions that it is not rated for, potentially causing damage.
It is recommended to perform maintenance on the adapter every 6 months. This includes checking connections, cleaning dust from the unit, and ensuring firmware is up to date.
The adapter is compatible with standard Ethernet cables, including Cat5e and Cat6, which support the required data transmission rates and are suitable for most network setups.
To update the firmware, download the latest version from the Vivotek website. Access the adapter’s settings via its IP address in a web browser, navigate to the firmware update section, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
If the adapter overheats, ensure it is placed in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Turn off the device and allow it to cool down before restarting. If overheating persists, contact support for further assistance.
