To properly load the Viking RDDB201 Dishwasher, place larger items such as pots and pans on the bottom rack facing downward for optimal water spray. Utensils should be placed in the provided basket with handles facing down, and smaller items like cups and glasses should go on the top rack. Ensure nothing blocks the spray arms.
If the Viking RDDB201 is not draining, check for clogs in the filter or drain hose. Ensure the air gap is clean if installed. Inspect the dishwasher's drain pump for debris. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact a service professional.
Ensure that the spray arms are not clogged and can rotate freely. Use the recommended detergent and check water temperature, which should be at least 120°F. Avoid overloading and ensure dishes do not block the detergent dispenser.
Regularly clean the filter, check and clean the spray arms, and wipe down the door seal. Run an empty cycle with a dishwasher cleaner monthly to prevent buildup of grease and limescale.
To reset the dishwasher, press and hold the 'Start/Reset' button for a few seconds until the LED display indicates a reset. If this does not work, try unplugging the dishwasher for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
Unusual noises can be due to items touching the spray arms or a loose object in the tub. Check for obstructions and ensure all items are secure. If the noise persists, inspect the pump and motor for issues.
Ensure the rinse aid dispenser is full, as it helps with drying. Select the 'Heated Dry' option if available. Load dishes so that water can easily drain off, and open the door slightly after the cycle to release steam.
A white film is often due to hard water. Use a rinse aid and check if the water softener is functioning correctly. Adjust detergent amounts as excessive detergent can also cause filming.
To clean the filter, remove it according to the manual instructions. Rinse it under warm water to remove debris. Use a soft brush if necessary, and ensure it's completely dry before reinstalling.
To prevent odors, regularly clean the filter and check for trapped food particles. Run a cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of vinegar once a month. Ensure the interior is dry by leaving the door slightly ajar between uses.
