To install the Thule Boxter, first ensure your vehicle has compatible roof racks. Position the box on the roof, align it with the roof bars, and use the provided clamps to secure it tightly, checking the locking system is engaged.
If your Thule Boxter is making noise, check if it's properly secured. Ensure the clamps and locks are tight, and the box is not overloaded or unbalanced. Consider adding padding or adjusting the position to reduce wind resistance.
Regularly clean the Thule Boxter with mild soap and water, inspect for any damage, and lubricate the locks and hinges. Store it in a dry place when not in use to prevent weather damage.
It is not recommended to drive through an automatic car wash with the Thule Boxter attached, as the equipment might damage the box or the vehicle. Hand washing is the safer option.
Place heavier items at the bottom and center of the Thule Boxter for stability, and distribute weight evenly. Secure all items to prevent shifting during transit.
If the lock is not working, check if the key is damaged or if there's debris inside the lock. Lubricate the lock with graphite powder. If it persists, consult the Thule manual or contact customer support for assistance.
Thule recommends not exceeding 130 km/h (80 mph) with the box installed. However, always adjust your speed according to road conditions and the load you are carrying.
The Thule Boxter is designed to withstand various weather conditions, but avoid using it in severe storms or high winds. Ensure all items are waterproofed and check the box after extreme weather for any damage.
To enhance aerodynamics, position the Thule Boxter centrally on the roof and ensure it is tightly secured. Remove the box when not in use to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency.
Inspect the hinges and locks for dirt or obstruction. Clean and lubricate them with a silicone-based spray. Ensure the box is not overfilled, which can cause stress on the hinges.
