To install the Thule Cascade 677, first ensure your vehicle has compatible roof bars. Position the cargo box on the bars, aligning the mounting holes with the bars. Secure the box using the provided U-bolts or PowerClick clamps, tightening them evenly to ensure stability.
The Thule Cascade 677 has a maximum load capacity of 110 lbs (50 kg). Always ensure you do not exceed this weight limit to maintain safety.
After closing the lid, insert the key into the lock and turn it clockwise until you hear a click. Try to lift the lid to ensure it is locked. The key can only be removed when the box is locked, providing visual confirmation.
If the lock is jammed, apply a small amount of lubricating oil into the keyhole. Gently wiggle the key while turning it to work the oil through the lock mechanism. Avoid using excessive force to prevent damage.
Clean the Thule Cascade 677 using mild soap and water with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners. To maintain, regularly check and tighten all fasteners and inspect the locks for smooth operation.
The Thule Cascade 677 is designed to withstand various weather conditions. However, in extreme wind or snowstorms, it is advisable to remove the box to prevent damage. Always check local regulations for rooftop cargo during severe weather.
Ensure the box is correctly aligned and securely fastened to minimize wind noise. Consider using an aerodynamic roof bar system, and ensure the box is not overloaded, which can increase noise.
If you lose the key, note the lock's key code printed near the lock cylinder. Contact a Thule dealer or locksmith to obtain a replacement key. Always have a spare key to prevent future issues.
Distribute the weight evenly, placing heavier items in the center of the box. Secure all items with straps to prevent movement during transit. Avoid overloading to ensure the lid closes properly.
To remove the Thule Cascade 677, unlock and open the box, unscrew the U-bolts or release the PowerClick clamps, and lift the box off the roof bars. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent UV damage.
