To break in the engine, run it at a rich setting for the first few tanks of fuel. Gradually lean out the fuel mixture over subsequent tanks while monitoring the engine temperature to ensure it doesn't overheat.
To improve handling on rough tracks, increase the shock oil viscosity and consider using stiffer springs. Adjust the ride height to a slightly higher position to prevent bottoming out.
After each race, clean the vehicle thoroughly, inspect and tighten any loose screws, check for worn or damaged parts, and lubricate moving components to ensure optimal performance.
Check the batteries in both the transmitter and receiver. Ensure that the receiver and transmitter are bound correctly and that there is no frequency interference. Inspect the wiring for any loose or damaged connections.
To set the gear mesh, insert a piece of paper between the pinion and spur gear. Adjust the position until the gears mesh snugly with a slight amount of play, then tighten the motor mount screws. Remove the paper once set.
To enhance steering response, adjust the toe angle slightly outwards, increase the servo speed, and use a softer compound tire. Also, ensure the steering linkage is free of play and properly adjusted.
It's recommended to replace the differential oil every 10-15 runs, or sooner if you notice changes in handling or performance. Regular replacement ensures consistent performance and prolongs component life.
Clean the vehicle thoroughly, remove all fuel from the engine, and disconnect the batteries. Store the vehicle in a cool, dry place to prevent deterioration of materials.
Check the wheel alignment and adjust the toe settings. Inspect the tires for uneven wear and ensure equal weight distribution across the vehicle. Check that the suspension components are not damaged or bent.
Ensure that the carburetor settings are correct and that there is no blockage in the fuel line. Check for air leaks around the engine seals and adjust the idle speed as needed.
