To perform a factory reset, restart the laptop and press the F10 key repeatedly when the VAIO logo appears. This will take you to the VAIO Recovery Center. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a system recovery.
Ensure the laptop is placed on a hard, flat surface to allow proper ventilation. Clean the air vents with compressed air to remove dust buildup. Consider using a cooling pad to improve airflow.
Turn off the laptop and remove the battery. Open the RAM compartment located on the underside of the laptop using a screwdriver. Carefully remove the existing RAM modules and replace them with compatible ones. Secure the compartment and reattach the battery.
Ensure the Wi-Fi switch on the laptop is turned on. Check the Device Manager to see if the wireless adapter is enabled. If necessary, update the Wi-Fi drivers from the Sony support website.
Power off the laptop and remove the battery. Unscrew the hard drive compartment cover on the bottom of the laptop. Gently slide out the old hard drive and replace it with a new one. Secure the compartment and replace the battery.
Turn off the laptop and unplug it. Use a can of compressed air to blow out dust and debris from between the keys. For deeper cleaning, slightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water or isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the keys.
Reduce screen brightness, turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use, and close unnecessary applications running in the background. Consider using power-saving modes and checking for battery optimization settings in the control panel.
Check for loose connections by adjusting the screen angle. Update or reinstall the graphics driver from the Device Manager. If the issue persists, consider checking the display cable or consulting a technician.
Connect the external monitor to the laptop using a VGA or HDMI cable. Press the Fn + F7 keys to toggle between display modes. Adjust display settings in the control panel if necessary.
Check for malware using antivirus software. Uninstall unnecessary programs and disable startup programs that you do not need. Consider upgrading the RAM or switching to an SSD for better performance.
