Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Check the fuel and oil levels. Pull the starter rope firmly or press the electric start button if equipped.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F. For colder conditions, SAE 5W-30 can be used. Always refer to the user manual for specific recommendations.
Sharpen the blades at least once a season or after 20-25 hours of use. Dull blades can damage the grass and strain the mower.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter. If these are fine, refer to the troubleshooting section of the manual.
Disconnect the spark plug, then use a garden hose to rinse under the deck. Scrape off any grass clippings or debris with a brush or scraper.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged blade, loose parts, or debris stuck in the mower. Inspect and tighten all components, and remove any obstructions.
Locate the air filter cover, remove it, and replace the old filter with a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
Check the oil level before each use, clean the deck after each mowing session, and perform a full maintenance check at the start and end of each mowing season.
Locate the height adjustment lever on the wheels. Move the lever to adjust all wheels to the desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Drain the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, check and change the oil if necessary, and store it in a dry, covered area. Disconnect the spark plug for safety.
