To change the drill bit, first ensure the drill is turned off and unplugged. Hold the drill firmly and rotate the chuck collar counterclockwise to loosen the jaws. Insert the new drill bit and tighten the chuck by rotating it clockwise until it's secure.
If the drill stops working, check the power supply and ensure the battery is charged. Inspect the drill for any obstructions or overheating. Allow the drill to cool down before attempting to restart.
To maintain battery life, store the battery in a cool, dry place. Avoid overcharging by unplugging the charger once fully charged and regularly use the drill to keep the battery active.
Always disconnect the drill from the power source before cleaning. Use a dry cloth to wipe the exterior and compressed air to remove dust from the vents. Avoid using water or chemical cleaners.
A strange noise may indicate a problem with the motor or bearings. Stop using the drill immediately to avoid further damage, and have it inspected by a professional technician.
To adjust the torque, locate the torque adjustment ring behind the chuck. Rotate the ring to the desired setting, with lower numbers for lighter tasks and higher numbers for heavier tasks.
If the drill bit is stuck, turn off the drill and gently reverse the drill direction to back out the bit. Avoid applying excessive force, as it may damage the bit or material.
The Skil DL181901 Drill is suitable for light masonry work if equipped with a masonry drill bit. For heavy masonry tasks, consider using a hammer drill for better results.
Carbon brushes should be inspected every 50 hours of use and replaced if worn down significantly. Refer to the user manual for specific replacement instructions.
Always wear protective eyewear and gloves when using the drill. Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards. Secure the material being drilled and avoid loose clothing that could get caught.
