To thread the needle on the Singer SIMW90D25, raise the needle to its highest position and follow the threading path indicated on the machine. Ensure the thread is securely placed in the tension discs and pass it through the needle eye from front to back.
If the machine is not sewing properly, check the threading of the needle and bobbin, ensure the needle is not bent or dull, and confirm the tension settings are correct for your fabric. Additionally, clean the bobbin area to remove any lint or thread tangles.
To adjust the tension settings, use the tension dial located on the front of the machine. For heavier fabrics, increase the tension, and for lighter fabrics, decrease it. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to ensure proper tension.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the bobbin case, oiling the machine as per the manual's instructions, replacing needles frequently, and covering the machine when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.
Unusual noises can be due to a lack of lubrication, incorrect threading, or debris in the bobbin area. Check these areas, clean the machine, and apply sewing machine oil to the designated parts as needed.
The Singer SIMW90D25 can handle a wide range of fabrics, from lightweight materials like silk and cotton to heavier fabrics such as denim and canvas. Use the appropriate needles and settings for each fabric type.
To change the presser foot, raise the presser foot lever and press the release button. Align the new foot with the presser foot holder and lower the presser foot lever to snap it into place.
Frequent needle breakage can result from using the wrong needle type or size, incorrect threading, or sewing over pins. Ensure the needle is suitable for the fabric and properly installed, and avoid sewing over pins.
Skipped stitches can be caused by a dull needle, incorrect threading, or improper tension. Replace the needle, re-thread the machine, and adjust the tension settings as necessary.
To wind the bobbin, place the empty bobbin on the bobbin winder spindle, thread the machine according to the bobbin-winding instructions, and push the spindle to the right. Hold the thread end and press the foot pedal to start winding.
