To thread the Singer SIIB9070, start by placing the spool of thread on the spool pin. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, ensuring the thread passes through the tension discs and the take-up lever. Finally, thread the needle from front to back.
If the needle is not picking up the bobbin thread, ensure the needle is inserted correctly with the flat side facing the back. Check that the machine is threaded properly and the bobbin is inserted correctly in the case.
Regularly clean the machine by removing lint and dust with a small brush or vacuum. Oil the machine as per the user manual instructions, focusing on the moving parts. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
If the machine is skipping stitches, try changing the needle as it may be dull or bent. Ensure the needle is appropriate for the fabric and thread being used. Re-thread the machine and check the bobbin.
Adjust the tension by turning the tension dial on the machine. For most fabrics, a setting between 3 and 5 is adequate. Test on a scrap piece of fabric and adjust as needed until the stitch looks balanced.
For heavy fabrics, use a size 16/100 or 18/110 needle. Ensure the needle is sharp and suitable for the specific type of heavy fabric, such as denim or canvas.
Raise the presser foot lever and press the lever at the back of the presser foot holder to release the current foot. Position the new presser foot under the holder and lower the presser foot lever to snap it into place.
Ensure the feed dogs are raised and not disengaged. Check that the presser foot is down and the fabric is positioned correctly. If necessary, adjust the presser foot pressure.
Check that the power cord and foot pedal are securely connected. Ensure the machine is plugged in and the power switch is turned on. If the issue persists, inspect the fuse or consult a professional technician.
Unusual noises may indicate the need for cleaning or oiling. Check for any obstructions or tangled thread. Re-thread the machine and inspect the bobbin area for any debris.
