To set the time, pull the crown out to the second click and turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the hands to the desired time. Push the crown back in to start the watch.
If the watch stops, check the battery as it may need replacement. If the battery is fine, inspect for any water damage or mechanical issues and consult a professional watch technician for repair.
To maintain water resistance, ensure the crown is always pushed in and any gaskets are checked and replaced every 1-2 years by a professional. Avoid exposing the watch to chemicals and extreme temperatures.
Clean the watch with a soft cloth dampened with warm water. For metal bracelets, use a toothbrush with mild soap if needed. Avoid immersing the watch in water, especially if it is not water-resistant.
The battery typically lasts 2-3 years, but it's recommended to replace it every 2 years to prevent battery leakage and ensure accurate timekeeping.
Check the watch's water resistance rating. If it is suitable for swimming, ensure the crown is secured. If not, avoid wearing it in water to prevent damage.
This could be due to magnetic exposure, physical shock, or aging components. A watchmaker can demagnetize it or adjust the movement as needed.
For leather straps, avoid water and moisturize with leather conditioner. Metal bracelets can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Regularly check for wear and replace as necessary.
If the crown is difficult to turn, it may need lubrication or there could be debris. Visit a professional technician for cleaning or servicing.
Check for a serial number on the case back and compare it with official Seiko documentation. Inspect the craftsmanship, logo, and movement. Consider professional authentication if uncertain.
