To start the Ryobi RY803600 Washer, connect the water supply, ensure the fuel tank is filled with gasoline, turn the fuel valve to the 'ON' position, set the choke lever to 'CHOKE' for a cold engine, and pull the starter grip firmly. Once the engine starts, move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.
If the washer won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the fuel valve is on, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and verify the oil level. Clean or replace the air filter if necessary. If problems persist, consult the maintenance manual or contact customer service.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the engine oil, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and ensuring all connections are secure. After each use, flush the detergent tank and clean the nozzle to prevent clogging.
Use SAE 30 detergent oil rated for service SF, SG, SH, SJ, or higher. In colder climates, SAE 10W-30 oil may be used for easier starting. Always check the oil level before each use.
Low pressure can be caused by a clogged nozzle, a kinked hose, or a blocked water inlet. Ensure the water supply is adequate and inspect these components for obstructions. Clean the nozzle and straighten hoses as needed.
To clean the nozzle, turn off the washer and disconnect it from the power source. Remove the nozzle from the spray wand and use the nozzle cleaning tool provided with the washer to clear any obstructions. Rinse with clean water before reattaching.
For off-season storage, drain all water from the pump and hoses, add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and run the engine for a few minutes. Store the washer in a dry, protected area, and cover it to prevent dust accumulation.
Engine surging can be caused by a dirty air filter, old fuel, or a clogged carburetor. Replace or clean the air filter, use fresh fuel, and clean the carburetor if necessary. Adjust the throttle to ensure smooth operation.
It is not recommended to use bleach or harsh chemicals in the washer as they can damage the pump and seals. Use only detergents and cleaners specifically designed for pressure washers. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use to remove any metal shavings from the break-in period. Subsequently, change the oil every 50 hours of use or at least once per season. Always check the oil level before each use.
