Ryobi P1109 Operator's Manual

To start the Ryobi P1109 mower, ensure the battery is fully charged and properly installed. Engage the safety key, press the start button, and pull the bail lever towards the handlebar.
Check if the battery is charged and correctly inserted. Ensure the safety key is in place. Inspect for any debris obstructing the blades and verify that the bail lever is fully engaged.
Sharpen the blades at least once a season or after 25 hours of use. Dull blades can lead to uneven cuts and strain the motor.
Use the single-lever height adjustment located near the wheel. Move it to the desired position to set the cutting height from 1.5 to 4 inches.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the deck after each use, checking for loose bolts, sharpening the blades, and ensuring the battery is stored properly.
Clean the mower thoroughly, remove the battery, and store it in a cool, dry place. Keep the mower in an upright position to save space.
Check for battery charge and overheating. Inspect the blade and deck for any obstructions. Make sure the safety key is securely in place.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can lead to clumping, uneven cuts, and potential damage to the mower. Wait until the grass is dry.
Disconnect the battery, tip the mower on its side, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Install the new blade, ensuring it is properly aligned, and tighten the bolt securely.
The Ryobi P1109 uses a 40V lithium-ion battery. Depending on the grass condition and cutting height, the battery can last up to 45 minutes on a full charge.
