To adjust the blade tension on the Ryobi BS904 Saw, locate the tension knob on the upper wheel housing. Turn the knob clockwise to increase tension and counterclockwise to decrease it. Proper tension should allow slight deflection of the blade when pressed.
If the blade is not cutting straight, check for proper blade tension and alignment. Ensure the guide bearings are correctly positioned and not worn out. Also, inspect the blade for any damage or dullness and replace if necessary.
To change the blade, first unplug the saw. Open the blade guard and release the blade tension using the tension knob. Carefully remove the old blade and install the new one, ensuring the teeth face forward. Re-tension the blade and close the guard.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the sawdust from the machine, checking and adjusting blade tension, inspecting and lubricating the guide bearings, and ensuring the table is clean and free of debris. Additionally, inspect the power cord and plug for any damage.
To align the table, loosen the table lock knob and adjust the table until it is perpendicular to the blade. Use a square to check the alignment. Once aligned, retighten the lock knob to secure the table in place.
If the motor does not start, check the power supply and ensure the saw is plugged in correctly. Inspect the power cord for damage and verify that the switch is functioning properly. If the problem persists, consult a qualified technician.
To prevent blade wandering, ensure proper blade tension and alignment. Use the appropriate blade for the material being cut and maintain a consistent feed rate. Adjust the guide bearings close to the blade for additional support.
The Ryobi BS904 Saw is primarily designed for woodworking. To cut metal, you may need to use a blade specifically designed for metal cutting and make adjustments to the saw's speed settings, if applicable. Always follow safety guidelines when cutting metal.
After use, unplug the saw and remove any sawdust or debris with a brush or vacuum. Wipe down the table and other surfaces with a damp cloth. Ensure all moving parts are free of dust to maintain optimal performance.
The Ryobi BS904 Saw is compatible with 9-inch blades. Ensure the blade's thickness and tooth configuration are suitable for the specific material you intend to cut.
