Perkins recommends using SAE 15W-40 oil for the 800D engine under most operating conditions.
The oil should be changed every 250 hours of operation or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
To bleed air from the fuel system, locate the bleed screw on the fuel filter, loosen it, and manually pump the fuel primer until a steady stream of fuel flows out, then retighten the screw.
Common causes include low coolant levels, a faulty thermostat, blocked radiator, or a malfunctioning water pump.
Check the battery charge, inspect the starter motor, ensure fuel supply is adequate, and check for any air in the fuel system.
The recommended valve clearance for a cold engine is 0.20 mm (0.008 in) for both intake and exhaust valves.
Perform regular checks on oil levels, coolant levels, inspect belts and hoses for wear, and ensure air filters are clean.
Check for air filter blockages, ensure proper fuel quality, inspect the turbocharger for wear, and verify that injectors are functioning correctly.
Regular maintenance such as timely oil changes, using recommended fuel and oil, and ensuring the cooling system operates efficiently helps in maintaining engine efficiency.
Inspect coolant levels, check for leaks, ensure the radiator is not blocked, and verify the operation of the thermostat and water pump.
