Perkins 400C Maintenance Manual

The recommended oil type for the Perkins 400C engine is SAE 15W-40, API CI-4 or higher.
It is advised to change the oil every 250 hours of operation or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
Check for adequate coolant levels, inspect the radiator for blockages, ensure the fan belt is tight, and verify the thermostat is functioning correctly.
To replace the fuel filter, shut off the engine, relieve the pressure, remove the old filter, install the new filter, and then prime the fuel system.
Check the oil and coolant levels, inspect belts and hoses for wear, examine the air filter, and look for any leaks or unusual noises.
White smoke may indicate coolant entering the combustion chamber, an issue with the fuel injectors, or a faulty head gasket.
Maintain regular service intervals, ensure proper engine tuning, use high-quality fuel, and avoid overloading the engine.
Drain and replace engine oil, add antifreeze to the coolant system, disconnect the battery, and store the engine in a dry, covered area.
After servicing, turn the ignition on, press and hold the reset button until the service light blinks and then goes off.
Loosen the bleed screw, pump the priming lever until fuel flows without air bubbles, then tighten the bleed screw to complete the process.
