To adjust the truss rod on your Peavey T-25, locate the truss rod adjustment nut at the headstock. Use an Allen wrench to turn the nut clockwise to tighten (reduce neck relief) or counterclockwise to loosen (increase neck relief). Make small adjustments and check the neck relief frequently.
The Peavey T-25 typically works well with a standard gauge of .010 to .046 for balanced tone and playability. However, personal preference and playing style may dictate different string gauges.
Ensure all electronic connections are secure and consider using a noise gate pedal. Shielding the control cavity with conductive paint or tape can also help reduce hum and noise from your Peavey T-25 pickups.
The Peavey T-25 features dual blade humbucker pickups. These can be upgraded to other humbucker models with similar dimensions. Ensure compatibility with the guitar’s electronics and mounting system when upgrading.
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the guitar after playing. For deeper cleaning, use a guitar-specific polish. Avoid using household cleaners as they can damage the finish. Regularly check for and clean dirt buildup around hardware and pickups.
To correct intonation issues, use a tuner to check each string’s pitch at the 12th fret. Adjust the saddle position on the bridge for each string until the open string and the 12th fret note are in tune.
First, unscrew and remove the jack plate. Desolder the connections from the old jack and remove it. Install a new jack, solder the connections, and secure the jack plate back in place. Ensure all connections are solid for optimal performance.
Store your Peavey T-25 in a hard case or gig bag to protect it from dust and physical damage. Keep it in a controlled environment away from extreme temperatures and humidity. Loosen the strings slightly if storing for an extended period.
Remove the strings and unscrew the old tuning machines from the back of the headstock. Install the new tuning machines, ensuring they fit the existing holes, and secure them with screws. Re-string the guitar and tune it to pitch.
Adjust the action by raising or lowering the bridge saddles. Use a screwdriver to make small adjustments and check playability. If further adjustment is needed, consider altering the truss rod or consulting a professional.
