To change the strings on the Peavey Mantis LT, loosen the tuning pegs to remove tension, then remove the old strings. Insert the new strings through the bridge, pull them up to the tuning pegs, and wind them while keeping them taut. Finally, tune the strings to the desired pitch.
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the fretboard after each playing session. For deeper cleaning, apply a small amount of fretboard oil to a cloth and rub it into the wood, then wipe away any excess oil.
Ensure that the guitar's internal wiring is properly grounded. Using a noise suppressor pedal can also help. Additionally, try different cables and ensure your amplifier is on a grounded outlet.
Check the tuning pegs for any looseness and tighten them if necessary. Ensure that the strings are properly stretched after installation. If problems persist, consider replacing the tuning pegs with higher quality ones.
To adjust the action, use a truss rod wrench to carefully adjust the neck's curvature. Then, use a screwdriver to raise or lower the bridge saddles as necessary to achieve the desired string height.
The Peavey Mantis LT typically comes with dual humbucking pickups. They can be upgraded to other humbucker models or even single coils with the appropriate mounting hardware and wiring adjustments.
Frequent string breakage can be caused by sharp edges on the bridge or nut, incorrect string installation, or excessive bending. Regularly inspect and smooth any sharp edges, and ensure strings are properly installed.
Use a tuner to check the pitch of the 12th fret harmonic and the fretted note. If the fretted note is sharp, adjust the saddle back; if flat, move it forward. Repeat until both notes are in tune.
Store your guitar in a hard case in a room with stable temperature and humidity. Avoid direct sunlight, heaters, or air conditioners. Using a humidifier in dry conditions can also help maintain the wood.
First, remove the jack plate using a screwdriver. Tighten the nut on the input jack gently with pliers. If the jack is still loose, consider replacing it for better stability.
