Start by adjusting the truss rod to ensure the neck is straight. Then, set the action height by adjusting the bridge saddles. Tune the guitar and intonate by moving the saddles forward or backward until the 12th fret note matches the harmonic.
Regularly clean the guitar body and fretboard with a soft cloth. Change strings as needed, typically every 1-3 months depending on use. Check and tighten any loose hardware. Periodically inspect the electronics for any issues.
First, ensure the amp and cable are working with another guitar. Check the pickup selector switch and volume/tone knobs for functionality. Inspect the wiring inside the control cavity for loose connections or damage.
Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. For deeper cleaning, apply a small amount of fretboard conditioner to a cloth and gently rub it into the fretboard. Avoid using excess liquid to prevent damage.
Check the neck relief and adjust the truss rod if necessary. Raise the action by adjusting the bridge saddles. Ensure the frets are level and consider having them dressed if necessary. Use slightly heavier gauge strings if needed.
Check that the tuning peg screws are tight. If they are loose, carefully tighten them. If the problem persists, consider replacing the tuners with higher-quality locking tuners for better stability.
After tuning the guitar, check the tuning of the 12th fret harmonic against the fretted note. If they don’t match, adjust the saddle position forward or backward until the notes are in tune. Repeat for each string.
Buzzing on open strings may be caused by low action, uneven frets, or a nut slot cut too low. Check the neck relief and adjust if needed, and inspect the nut and frets for wear or damage.
Begin by loosening and removing the old strings. Clean the fretboard if necessary. Thread the new strings through the bridge and tuning pegs, then wind them while keeping tension. Tune and stretch the strings before final tuning.
Store the guitar in a case or gig bag to protect it from dust and humidity changes. Keep it in a room with stable temperature and humidity levels. Avoid hanging it in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
