To load continuous paper, first turn off the printer. Adjust the paper lever to the "Continuous" position. Open the paper guide and align the paper with the tractor feeders. Secure the paper in place, ensuring it is correctly aligned with the perforations. Close the paper guide and set the paper thickness lever according to the paper type.
First, check that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the power source. Ensure the power outlet is functional by testing it with another device. If the printer still does not turn on, check the fuse in the printer's power supply unit and replace it if necessary.
Turn off the printer before attempting to clear a paper jam. Open the top cover and gently remove any jammed paper, taking care not to tear it. Check the paper path and rollers for any remaining pieces of paper. Once cleared, reload the paper and close the cover before turning the printer back on.
Faint or uneven printing may be due to a worn-out ribbon cartridge. Replace the ribbon with a new one. Ensure the print head is clean and that the ribbon is properly installed. Adjust the print head gap lever to accommodate the thickness of the paper used.
Turn off the printer and open the top cover. Remove the old ribbon cartridge by gently lifting it out. Insert the new ribbon cartridge by aligning it with the print head and pressing it down until it clicks into place. Rotate the tension knob to take up any slack in the ribbon and then close the cover.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the exterior and interior of the printer, checking the print head and platen for ink or dust build-up, and ensuring the ribbon cartridge is in good condition. Lubricate moving parts as needed and verify that the paper path is clear of obstructions.
To change the character pitch, hold down the "Pitch" button until the desired pitch setting is displayed on the printer's control panel. Release the button to set the pitch. The available options typically include 10, 12, 15, and other specific pitches depending on the model.
Ensure that the ribbon cartridge is installed correctly and not empty. Check the print head alignment and verify that the paper is loaded correctly. If issues persist, perform a self-test to check printer functionality and consult the printer's manual for further troubleshooting steps.
To perform a self-test, turn off the printer. Press and hold the "LF" (Line Feed) button while turning the printer back on. Release the button once the printer begins printing the self-test page. This test will print a sample page to verify the printer's functionality and print quality.
