To pair your Midland GXT635 radios, ensure both radios are set to the same channel and privacy code. Turn on the radios, press the "Menu" button to navigate to the channel selection, and use the "Up" or "Down" buttons to select the desired channel.
The maximum range of the Midland GXT635 radio is up to 30 miles under optimal conditions, such as clear line of sight without obstructions. The range may vary based on terrain, weather, and environmental factors.
To improve battery life, turn off the radio when not in use, use the "Power Save" mode, and reduce the volume level. Regularly recharge or replace batteries as needed.
Ensure the radio is set to the same channel and privacy code as the receiving radio. Check the battery charge level and ensure the "PTT" (Push-to-Talk) button is fully pressed during transmission.
To reset the Midland GXT635 to factory settings, turn off the radio, press and hold the "Menu" button while turning the radio back on. This will reset the settings to default.
The Midland GXT635 radio uses four AA alkaline batteries, or can be powered with a rechargeable NiMH battery pack.
Press the "Menu" button until the WX icon appears on the display, then use the "Up" or "Down" button to activate the weather alert function. This will allow the radio to receive NOAA weather alerts.
Static interference can be caused by environmental factors such as buildings or trees. Try changing your location, adjusting the squelch setting, or selecting a different channel to reduce interference.
To lock the keypad, press and hold the "Lock" button until the lock icon appears on the display. This prevents accidental changes to settings.
Check that the batteries are properly installed and fully charged. If the issue persists, try resetting the radio or consult the user manual for further troubleshooting steps.
