To start the McCulloch Tivoli 63 Trimmer, ensure it is on a flat surface. Set the choke to the closed position, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, and pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Then, set the choke to the open position and pull the starter rope again to start the engine.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 90 RON mixed with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 40:1.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool cap, take out any remaining line, and insert the new line into the spool, winding it evenly. Reattach the spool cap securely.
If the trimmer is not starting, check that the fuel tank has a proper mix of fuel, the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and the air filter is not clogged. Ensure the right starting procedure is followed, including the use of the choke and primer bulb.
Clean the air filter after every 5 hours of operation. Replace it if there are signs of wear or damage to ensure optimal performance.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter every 5 hours, inspecting the spark plug after every 25 hours, and replacing it if necessary. Also, check the fuel system regularly for any leaks or damage.
Before storing, clean the trimmer thoroughly, drain the fuel tank, and run the engine until it stops. Store the trimmer in a dry place, preferably in a protective case or cover, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, ensure that you are using the correct type and size of line recommended by the manufacturer. Avoid hitting hard surfaces, and check the trimmer head for any damage that may cause the line to wear quickly.
To improve performance, regularly clean the air filter, use the correct fuel mix, replace the spark plug annually, and ensure the trimmer line is the correct size and properly wound. Regular maintenance as per the user manual will also help.
Wear protective goggles, gloves, and ear protection. Ensure bystanders are at a safe distance, and check the area for debris that could be thrown by the trimmer. Always operate the trimmer with both hands and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions.
