To start the McCulloch M51–190WRPX, first ensure that the mower is on a flat surface. Then, press the primer bulb three times, pull the safety lever, and pull the starter cord with a firm, steady motion.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using ethanol blends over 10% as they can damage the engine.
Sharpen the mower blades every 25 hours of use or at the start of each mowing season to ensure a clean cut and prolong the life of your lawn.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). If operating in colder conditions, use SAE 5W-30 for optimal performance.
After each use, ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Use a garden hose to wash off grass clippings and debris from the deck. Dry it thoroughly to prevent rust.
Check if there is enough fuel and the fuel is fresh. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Also, ensure the air filter is not clogged.
Adjust the cutting height by using the levers located on each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height evenly.
Clean the mower thoroughly, remove any fuel from the tank, and disconnect the spark plug. Store in a dry, sheltered location to prevent rust and damage.
Locate the air filter cover on the side of the engine, remove the cover, and take out the old filter. Insert a new filter and reattach the cover securely.
Check the oil level, inspect the blade for sharpness, ensure all bolts and screws are tight, and check the air filter for cleanliness.
