To start the lawn mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Place the mower on a flat surface, set the throttle to 'fast', engage the choke if the engine is cold, and pull the starter handle firmly.
Use clean, fresh unleaded petrol with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Also, make sure the safety lever is engaged.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever near the wheel. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and sharpening the mower blades.
After use, turn off the mower and allow it to cool. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris, and wash the underside of the deck with a hose, ensuring no water enters the engine.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged blade, loose parts, or an unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage and tighten any loose components. If the problem persists, consult a professional.
Before storing, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Remove the battery if applicable.
It is not recommended to use the lawn mower on wet grass as it can clog the deck, affect cutting performance, and increase the risk of slipping. Wait for the grass to dry before mowing.
