Ensure the blower is on a flat surface. Set the choke lever to the 'closed' position, prime the engine with the primer bulb until fuel is visible, pull the starter rope briskly until the engine starts, then move the choke to 'open'.
Perform regular maintenance checks every 20 hours of operation, including cleaning the air filter, checking the spark plug, and inspecting fuel lines. Annually, replace the air filter and spark plug, and clean the fuel tank.
Check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify the choke and throttle settings are correct.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89, mixed with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a 40:1 ratio.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, wash it in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, let it dry completely, and then replace it back into the blower.
Check for loose parts, ensure the impeller is not damaged, and verify that the blower tube is properly attached. Tighten any loose screws and replace damaged components.
Inspect the air filter and clean or replace if necessary, check the fuel mix and ensure it's correct, and examine the spark plug for wear or fouling.
Ensure the blower is well-maintained, use it at a lower throttle setting where appropriate, and consider using ear protection to minimize perceived noise.
Empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, clean the blower thoroughly, remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, and store it in a dry, cool place.
Wear eye and ear protection, avoid loose clothing, operate in a well-ventilated area, and keep bystanders at a safe distance to prevent injury from debris.
