Ensure that the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Push the primer bulb 3-5 times, hold the handlebar lever, and pull the starter cord firmly.
Check if there is enough fuel and the spark plug is not fouled. Ensure the air filter is clean and the starter cord is not damaged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours or every season thereafter.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than E10.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, tilt the mower, and use a brush or scraper to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck.
Ensure that the blade is sharp and properly balanced. Check the tire pressure and adjust the cutting height as needed.
Disconnect the spark plug and turn the mower on its side. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, replace the blade, and secure it tightly.
Check for a damaged or unbalanced blade, inspect the engine mounting bolts, and ensure that all hardware is tight.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the deck, and store the mower in a dry place. Remove the battery if applicable.
Regularly check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, sharpen the blade, inspect the spark plug, and clean the deck.
