To start the McCulloch MAC 320 BV Blower, ensure the blower is on a flat surface. Set the choke lever to the full choke position. Press the primer bulb 6 times. Pull the start cord rapidly until the engine fires. Once it fires, move the choke lever to the half-choke position and pull again until the engine starts. Allow it to run for a few seconds and then move the choke to the run position.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle engine oil. The recommended ratio is 40:1. Always mix fuel in a separate container, not directly in the fuel tank.
If the blower won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Verify that the air filter is clean and not clogged. Also, ensure that the choke and throttle settings are correct.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug annually, inspecting the fuel filter, and ensuring that all screws and bolts are tight. Regularly check the blower's fuel lines for cracks or damage.
To clean the air filter, remove the air filter cover. Take out the filter and wash it in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely. Lightly oil the filter before replacing it in the blower.
Loss of power can be due to a clogged air filter, a dirty spark plug, or old fuel. Ensure the air filter is clean, replace the spark plug if necessary, and use fresh fuel. Check the exhaust port for carbon buildup as well.
Excessive vibration can be caused by loose parts or an unbalanced impeller. Check and tighten all screws and bolts. Inspect the impeller for any damage or debris and clean or replace it if necessary.
To prevent fuel issues, always use fresh fuel and the correct oil mixture. Use a fuel stabilizer if storing fuel for more than 30 days. Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops if the blower will not be used for an extended period.
Wear safety goggles and hearing protection. Make sure bystanders and pets are at a safe distance. Do not operate the blower indoors or in poorly ventilated areas. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and warnings.
For off-season storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the blower thoroughly, including the air filter and exterior. Store it in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
