To start the McCulloch 100 SERIES Chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, switch the power on, pump the primer bulb several times, set the choke to 'full', and pull the starter cord until the engine fires. Once it starts, set the choke to 'run'.
The McCulloch 100 SERIES Chainsaw requires a 40:1 ratio of gasoline to 2-cycle engine oil. Mix thoroughly before filling the tank.
If your chainsaw won't start, check the fuel level and mixture, inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the choke is set correctly.
The chain should be sharpened every time you refuel the chainsaw. If you notice it cutting slower or producing fine sawdust instead of chips, it's time to sharpen.
After each use, clean the air filter, inspect and tighten the chain, check for loose screws, and wipe down the exterior. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the bar nuts slightly, turn the tensioning screw to achieve the desired tension, and then retighten the bar nuts. The chain should be snug but able to be pulled around by hand.
Loss of power can be due to a clogged air filter, a dull chain, or improper fuel mixture. Clean or replace the air filter, sharpen the chain, and ensure the correct fuel mixture.
To replace the spark plug, remove the spark plug cover, unscrew the old spark plug using a spark plug socket, and install a new plug. Ensure it is properly gapped and securely fastened.
Use high-quality bar and chain oil to lubricate the chain. This type of oil is specifically designed to adhere to the chain and bar, reducing friction and wear.
When storing, clean the chainsaw thoroughly, empty the fuel tank, and apply a protective cover. Store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
