To start the lawn mower, ensure that the fuel tank is filled, the oil level is adequate, and the spark plug is connected. Pull the starter cord firmly while holding the safety lever against the handle.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol content.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or once per season.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter for clogs. If it still doesn't start, examine the spark plug for damage or fouling.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Tilt the mower to the side with the air filter facing up. Use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck.
Locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to set the cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same level.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Consider removing the battery and storing it separately if applicable.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Install the new spark plug by turning it clockwise and reconnect the wire.
Check for debris lodged in the blade area and ensure the blade is properly balanced and tightened. If the problem persists, inspect the blade for damage or wear.
Clean the mower, remove the spark plug, and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder. Reinstall the spark plug without connecting the wire. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered location.
