It is recommended to change the oil after every 25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season to ensure optimal engine performance.
Use fresh unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10.
Check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and ensure the air filter is clean. Additionally, make sure the mower is on a flat surface and the blade control lever is engaged.
Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety, then remove the blade. Secure it in a vice and use a file or rotary tool to sharpen the cutting edges evenly. Reattach the blade securely before use.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, then tilt the mower on its side with the air filter facing up. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris, and a hose for thorough cleaning. Avoid spraying water directly on the engine.
Excessive vibrations can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade, loose hardware, or debris buildup under the mower deck. Inspect and correct any of these issues before continued use.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move each lever to the desired position to set the preferred cutting height. Ensure all wheels are adjusted to the same height for an even cut.
At the end of the season, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, sharpen the blade, and store the mower in a dry place.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, check the gap on the new plug, and install it by hand before tightening with the wrench. Reattach the spark plug wire.
Ensure the blade is sharp and properly balanced, check that the cutting height is set correctly, and make sure the engine is running at full speed. Adjust your mowing speed if necessary.
