To start the McCulloch M51–135 CMDA Lawn Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Then, pull the starter rope firmly while holding down the safety handle.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 for optimal performance. Avoid gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and inspect the air filter for clogs. If issues persist, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
After use, disconnect the spark plug wire and tilt the mower. Use a garden hose to rinse away debris, or a scraper to remove stuck grass. Ensure the deck is dry before storing.
Check for loose parts or debris caught in the blade. Inspect the blade for damage and balance, and tighten any loose bolts.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the old filter, and replace it with a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly before replacing the cover.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and either empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store in a dry place and disconnect the spark plug.
Regularly sharpen the blades, maintain the correct tire pressure, and mow at the right height for your grass type. Ensure the mower is not overloaded with grass clippings.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged and sharpen or replace it as needed. Ensure the mowing height is correct and that the grass is not wet or too long.
