To start the McCulloch M51–135 CMD Lawn Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled, the spark plug is connected, and the oil level is correct. Press the primer bulb a few times if required, then pull the starter rope firmly.
Use clean, fresh unleaded petrol with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Sharpen the mower blade at least once a season or after 25 hours of use. If you notice uneven cutting, it may need to be sharpened more frequently.
Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 40°F (4°C). For colder temperatures, SAE 5W-30 is recommended.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover, take out the filter, and wash it with mild detergent and water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and clean. Examine the air filter for obstructions and make sure the primer bulb is functional.
Adjust the cutting height by using the lever located near each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height setting, ensuring all four wheels are set evenly.
After each use, clean the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, check for loose bolts, and inspect the blade for damage. Ensure the air filter and engine components are free from debris.
To store the mower for winter, drain the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered place. Disconnect the spark plug for safety.
Regularly change the oil, keep the blade sharp, and ensure the air filter is clean. Use fresh fuel and store the mower properly during off-seasons.
