To start the McCulloch M46-625 CMDWA, ensure the fuel tank is filled, the spark plug is connected, and the throttle is in the correct position. Pull the starter rope firmly while holding the handlebar.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use fuel containing more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season, whichever comes first.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and connected, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. Also, make sure the safety handle is fully engaged.
After use, let the mower cool down. Disconnect the spark plug and use a garden hose to wash off grass and debris from the deck. Avoid spraying water directly on the engine.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel and move it to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Before storage, drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and remove the spark plug to prevent corrosion. Store it in a dry, sheltered location.
Disconnect the spark plug, tilt the mower, and remove the blade. Use a file or a bench grinder to sharpen the blade evenly on both sides. Reinstall the blade securely.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged blade, loose bolts, or debris lodged in the mower deck. Inspect and balance the blade, tighten any loose parts, and clear out debris.
Check if the wheels are set to the same height, inspect the blade for damage, and ensure the blade is sharp. Adjust settings and replace the blade if necessary.
