To start the McCulloch M46–450CMD Lawn Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Pull the throttle lever to the start position, press the primer bulb 3-5 times if necessary, and pull the starter cord firmly.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Check the owner's manual for more details.
It is recommended to sharpen the mower blade at least once a season or after every 25 hours of use to maintain optimal cutting performance.
Check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and clean or replace if necessary. Verify that the air filter is clean and free of obstructions.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it in warm, soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace the filter if it is damaged.
To change the oil, disconnect the spark plug wire, tilt the mower and drain the old oil into a suitable container. Refill with the recommended oil type and check the level with the dipstick.
Adjust the cutting height by using the levers located on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height position, ensuring all four wheels are set to the same level for an even cut.
Excessive vibrations may be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade, loose hardware, or engine issues. Inspect the blade and ensure that all bolts and screws are tightened properly.
Check the spark plug every 25 hours of use or once per season. Replace it if there are signs of wear, carbon build-up, or damage.
Before storing the mower for winter, clean the mower deck, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and store the mower in a dry place. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starts.
