To start the McCulloch M46-140 WR lawn mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is correct. Pull the safety lever toward the handlebar, then pull the starter rope firmly.
Check the fuel level and ensure it’s fresh. Inspect the spark plug for damage or fouling, and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, make sure the air filter is clean and not clogged.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or once a season.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
To maintain the cutting blade, regularly inspect it for damage and sharpness. Sharpen or replace the blade annually or as needed. Always disconnect the spark plug before performing maintenance.
The cutting height can be adjusted by using the height adjustment lever located near the wheels. Move the lever to the desired position to raise or lower the mower deck.
Excessive vibration may be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade. Check the blade for damage or imbalance and replace it if necessary. Also, ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened properly.
After use, allow the mower to cool down and then use a brush or compressed air to remove grass clippings from the deck, blade, and wheels. Avoid using water directly on the engine.
For winter storage, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and remove any fuel by running the engine until it stops. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced if dirty or damaged. It's advisable to replace it at least once a season for optimal performance.
