To start the McCulloch M46–135 CMD lawn mower, first ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Prime the engine using the primer bulb, set the throttle to the starting position, and then pull the starter cord quickly and firmly.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol-rich fuels as they can cause engine damage.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, verify the air filter is not clogged, and make sure the safety lever is engaged.
To clean the cutting deck, disconnect the spark plug, tilt the mower to its side (carburetor side up), and use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris.
Regular maintenance includes checking and replacing the air filter, sharpening the blade, changing the oil, and inspecting the spark plug.
Adjust the cutting height by using the lever located near the wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to set the cutting height from 20mm to 75mm.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, loose bolts, or debris caught in the cutting deck. Inspect these areas and correct any issues found.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug, and install a new one with the correct gap setting.
Uncut strips may be caused by a dull blade or improper mowing speed. Sharpen the blade and ensure you are mowing at a steady pace.
