To start the McCulloch M46-135 CDW, ensure that the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to choke or start, and the safety handle is held down. Pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 for optimal performance. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than 10%.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Check the fuel level, spark plug connection, and ensure the air filter is clean. Make sure the safety handle is engaged and the throttle is set correctly. If it still won't start, consider replacing the spark plug or checking the carburetor.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located on each wheel. There are multiple settings available, allowing you to select the desired grass height.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, and inspecting the spark plug. Refer to the manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
After each use, remove grass clippings from the deck and blades using a brush or cloth. Avoid using water directly on the engine. For thorough cleaning, consult the user manual for specific instructions.
Excessive vibration may indicate a bent blade or loose parts. Inspect the blade for damage and tighten any loose bolts. If the problem persists, seek professional servicing.
It is not recommended to mow wet grass as it can clog the mower deck and affect performance. Wait until the grass is dry for best results.
Before storing for the winter, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store in a dry place, and cover the mower to protect it from dust and moisture.
