To start the McCulloch M46–125M lawn mower, ensure that the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Move the throttle lever to the 'Start' position, then pull the starter handle firmly. Make sure the spark plug is connected.
If the lawn mower doesn't start, check the fuel level and ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Inspect the air filter for clogs and ensure the throttle lever is in the correct position.
The mower blades should be sharpened at least once per mowing season or after every 25 hours of use to ensure a clean cut and maintain the health of your lawn.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
To clean the air filter, remove the filter cover and take out the filter. Wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For colder temperatures, consider using SAE 10W-30.
Ensure the fuel is fresh and the air filter is clean. Regularly check and replace the spark plug if necessary. Avoid cutting wet or excessively tall grass in a single pass.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height.
Before storing for winter, clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel, change the oil, and remove the spark plug. Store in a dry, sheltered area to prevent rust and engine damage.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug before handling clogs. Use a stick or similar tool to remove debris, avoiding direct contact with blades.
