To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged (if the engine is cold), and the throttle is set to the start position. Pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts.
Check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged.
It's recommended to change the oil after every 50 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 oil for general use or SAE 10W-30 for varying temperature conditions. Always check your manual for specific recommendations.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire. Remove the blade by loosening the bolt. Sharpen using a file or a grinder, maintaining the original angle of the blade. Balance the blade before reinstallation.
Check for debris stuck in the blade area, ensure the blade is not bent, and verify that all bolts are tightened properly. A balanced blade is crucial for smooth operation.
Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the mower thoroughly and apply a light coat of oil to the metal parts to prevent rust. Store in a dry place.
Regular tasks include checking the oil level, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and ensuring the blade is sharp and balanced.
Locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height setting, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Inspect the air filter for clogs, ensure the blade is sharp, and check the spark plug condition. Also, verify that the fuel is fresh and the mower is running with the correct oil level.
