Ensure the mower is on a flat surface, check the oil and fuel levels, and set the throttle to the 'fast' position. Pull the starter rope briskly to start the engine.
First, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and replace if necessary. Also, confirm that the air filter is clean.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than 10%.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired cutting height position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same level.
Smoke can be caused by overfilling the oil, a blocked air filter, or oil spillage on the engine. Check and correct the oil level and clean the air filter.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, safely tilt the mower, and remove the blade. Use a file or sharpening tool to hone the blade's edge evenly. Reattach securely.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower deck, and remove the spark plug. Store in a dry, covered area to protect against rust and damage.
Locate the air filter cover on the side of the engine, remove the cover, and take out the old filter. Insert a new filter and replace the cover securely.
Check for debris caught in the blades or under the deck. Ensure that the blade is balanced and mounted correctly. Tighten any loose bolts or screws.
