To start the McCulloch M40-125, first ensure the fuel valve is open. Then, pull the choke lever if the engine is cold. Hold the safety handle against the handlebar and pull the starter cord swiftly.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours or at the start of each mowing season.
Check the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the fuel is fresh, and clean the air filter. Also, make sure the fuel valve is open and the choke is set correctly.
Regularly inspect the blades for damage and sharpen them at least once a season or after every 25 hours of use. Always disconnect the spark plug before servicing the blades.
The cutting height can be adjusted between 20 mm to 75 mm. Choose a height suitable for your grass type and growth conditions.
Regularly clean or replace the air filter, use the correct fuel, and maintain the spark plug. Also, ensure the mower is on a level surface when operating.
Check for loose or damaged blades and ensure they are balanced. Inspect the mower for any loose parts and tighten them as necessary.
After each use, remove grass clippings and debris from the mower deck using a brush or cloth. Avoid using water directly on the engine or electrical parts.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered place. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
