To start the McCulloch M40-125 Lawn Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Engage the safety handle, pull the starter rope firmly, and allow the engine to run.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher for optimal performance. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels with more than 10% ethanol.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
The recommended cutting height varies based on grass type, but generally, it ranges from 25mm to 75mm. Adjust the cutting height using the lever located on the wheels.
Check for sufficient fuel, inspect the spark plug for damage or fouling, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify the safety handle is engaged during starting attempts.
Disconnect the spark plug, and use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris. Avoid using water directly on the engine to prevent damage.
Check the blade for damage or imbalance, ensure all bolts are tightened, and inspect the mower deck for obstructions. Replace or balance the blade if necessary.
It is not recommended to use the mower on wet grass as it can lead to uneven cuts, clogging, and potential damage to the mower. Wait until the grass is dry.
Remove the spark plug wire, tilt the mower, and carefully remove the blade. Use a file or grinder to sharpen the blade evenly. Reinstall securely after sharpening.
Clean the mower thoroughly, empty the fuel tank, change the oil, and store in a dry place. Cover the mower to protect it from dust and debris.
