To start the McCulloch M11597, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the spark plug connected. Pull the starter rope firmly while holding the safety lever.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 for colder conditions. Check the owner’s manual for further details.
Sharpen the blade after every 25 hours of use or at the start of each mowing season to ensure optimal performance.
Check the fuel level, spark plug, and air filter. Ensure the mower is on a level surface and that the safety lever is engaged.
Disconnect the spark plug, tip the mower on its side, and use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris.
Drain the fuel, change the oil, clean the air filter, and store the mower in a dry place. Consider removing the battery if applicable.
Locate the height adjustment levers on the wheels and move them to the desired position for your preferred cutting height.
It's not recommended to mow wet grass as it can clog the mower deck and lead to uneven cutting. Wait for the grass to dry.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug with a wrench, install a new one, and reconnect the wire securely.
Check for a damaged or unbalanced blade, loose parts, or debris stuck in the deck. Tighten any loose components and clean the mower deck.
