To start the McCulloch M 51–875 CMDW Lawn Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is correct. Push the primer bulb three times, set the throttle to the 'Start' position, and pull the starter handle firmly.
If the lawn mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, inspect the air filter for blockages, and make sure the throttle is set to 'Start'.
The oil in your lawn mower should be changed after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of use or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover and take out the filter. Wash it with warm, soapy water and allow it to dry completely before re-installing. Replace it if it's damaged or excessively dirty.
For end-of-season storage, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower deck, and remove the battery if applicable. Store in a dry, sheltered area.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel and move it to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a bent blade or loose parts. Inspect the blade for damage and tighten any loose bolts or nuts. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
To sharpen the mower blade, disconnect the spark plug, remove the blade, and secure it in a vice. Use a file or grinder to sharpen the blade evenly on both sides. Re-install the blade securely.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting and sharpening the blade, checking tire pressure, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight.
