To start the McCulloch GB320 Blower, ensure the blower is on a flat surface. Set the choke lever to the start position, press the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, and pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Adjust the choke to the run position as the engine warms up.
If the blower won't start, check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and verify that the air filter is clean. Also, make sure the choke is set correctly and that the starter cord is being pulled with enough force.
Regularly check and clean the air filter. Remove it from the blower, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely before reinstalling. Replace the air filter if it shows signs of wear or damage.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 90, mixed with high-quality 2-stroke oil in a 40:1 ratio. Ensure the fuel mixture is fresh and well-mixed.
Excessive vibration may be caused by loose parts, a damaged impeller, or misaligned components. Inspect and tighten all screws and bolts, check the impeller for damage, and ensure all parts are properly aligned.
Conduct a visual inspection before each use. Clean the air filter every 5 hours of operation, replace the spark plug and fuel filter every 25 hours, and perform a comprehensive check after every season.
To store the blower, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor of fuel. Clean the blower thoroughly, inspect for any damage, and store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
If performance decreases, check and clean the air filter, inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling, and ensure the fuel mixture is correct. Regular maintenance and using fresh fuel can also improve performance.
Turn off the blower and let it cool before refueling. Use a funnel to avoid spills and wipe up any spilled fuel immediately. Ensure the fuel cap is securely tightened before starting the blower again.
To reduce noise, ensure the blower is properly maintained with a clean air filter and correctly adjusted engine components. Operating at lower throttle settings when possible can also lessen noise levels.
