Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb 3-5 times. Pull the starter rope firmly while holding the handlebar safety lever.
Use clean, fresh unleaded petrol with an octane rating of 90 or higher. Avoid using ethanol-rich fuels.
Sharpen the blades at the beginning of each mowing season or after approximately 25 hours of use to ensure optimal cutting performance.
Check if the fuel has gone stale; if so, replace with fresh fuel. Inspect the spark plug for dirt or wear and clean or replace as necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and unobstructed.
Regularly sharpen the blades, maintain correct tire pressure, and ensure the mower deck is free of debris. Adjust the cutting height according to lawn conditions.
Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil. Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Tilt the mower on its side and drain the oil into a suitable container. Refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Check the air filter regularly for dirt and debris. Clean a foam filter with warm soapy water and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace a paper filter if it's too dirty.
Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Use a garden hose to rinse the underside of the deck after each use to prevent grass build-up. For thorough cleaning, scrape off any stuck grass with a plastic scraper.
Check if the mower blade is balanced and securely attached. Inspect for any damage or bending. Replace or repair as needed. Additionally, ensure all nuts and bolts are tightened properly.
Clean the mower thoroughly and remove any grass or debris. Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
