To start the McCulloch BR022 Lawn Mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is correct. Set the throttle to 'start' and pull the starter rope firmly until the engine starts.
If the lawn mower doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and inspect the air filter for blockages. Clean or replace components as necessary.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and ensure it contains no more than 10% ethanol.
Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety, turn the mower on its side, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace the blade and secure it tightly with the bolt.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged blade or debris trapped under the mower deck. Inspect and clean the deck and check the blade for damage.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if heavily soiled or damaged.
Before storing the mower, drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower deck, and remove the battery if applicable. Store in a dry, sheltered area.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel and set them to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check the drive cable for proper tension and ensure it's not damaged. Inspect the drive belt for wear and replace if necessary.
