Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels greater than E10.
Ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged if the engine is cold, and the throttle is set to the start position. Pull the starter rope firmly.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours of operation or at least once per mowing season.
