To start the McCulloch 125 CRD, ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Set the throttle to 'fast' and press the primer bulb three times. Pull the starter cord firmly to start the engine.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level and ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Also, inspect the air filter for clogs and ensure the primer bulb is functioning correctly.
Change the oil after every 25 hours of use or at the start of each mowing season to ensure optimal performance.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10 for best performance.
Ensure the blade is sharp and properly balanced. Clean the underside of the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, and adjust the cutting height for optimal grass conditions.
Signs include difficulty starting the engine, poor fuel economy, and a rough idle. Inspect the spark plug for carbon deposits or damage and replace if necessary.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. Clean it with warm, soapy water and let it dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if damaged.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, covered area. Consider removing the spark plug and adding a few drops of oil into the cylinder to prevent rust.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever near each wheel. Move the lever to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for a uniform cut.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure it is properly balanced and secured. Tighten any loose parts or fasteners on the mower.
